Flushing

I began this project in late summer 2025. The goal was to capture the chaos of Flushing. It felt less like a place and more like a scene from a William Gibson novel. The heat of summer pressed down on me as I walked through the crowds. I remember standing on the corner of Main and Roosevelt Street, the sounds of electronic voice boxes switching from Mandarin to English, “San kuai, three dollars,” buzzed in the air, and the feeling of being swallowed by an infinite number of people washed over me. Flushing is a theater of intensity, a place where my camera lens met face to face with urban chaos.
